Special Features

Should be positioned where other plants will help to hide their often untidy foliage. Flowers perfecly spherical.

Features of Species or Group:

Comes from central Asian region of Aflatun. This exceptionally pretty allium gets to be 32in/80cm tall, and the flower heads are densely covered with large purple-lilac flowers. It is a beautiful, long lasting cut flower with scarcely any scent.

Features of Genus:

Alliums come in all sizes, some alliums will reach up to 4 feet (120 cm) and stand tall with singular beauty. Typically, they produce rounded heads of flowers, often in rosy purple shades, but there are also yellow and white-flowered species. Some of them are small-growing and suitable for the rock garden, while others make excellent plants for the middle or back of borders. Many alliums make excellent cut flowers. They are usually long lasting in water. There are a large number of allium species, including edible onions, garlic and chives as well as many ornamental plants.

How to Plant Allium Bulbs?

To plant Allium Bulbs the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Allium Purple Sensation should be planted roughly 5" deep and 8" apart from one another.

Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.
