Without a doubt one of the most striking ornamental onions: a small rounded flowerhead develops into a second, much larger and more transparent flowerhead. A real beauty which can be easily dried and will last for years in this state.

Alliums come in all sizes, some alliums will reach up
to 4 feet (120 cm) and stand tall with singular
beauty. Typically, they produce rounded heads of
flowers, often in rosy purple shades, but there are
also yellow and white-flowered species. Some of them
are small-growing and suitable for the rock garden,
while others make excellent plants for the middle or
back of borders. Many alliums make excellent cut
flowers. They are usually long lasting in water. There
are a large number of allium species, including edible
onions, garlic and chives as well as many ornamental
plants. |

How to Plant Allium Bulbs? |
| |
To plant Allium Bulbs the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Allium Schubertii should be planted roughly 4-5" deep and 6-8" apart from one another.
Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.
