Anemone blanda Blue Shades is an early spring flowering anemone which makes lovely groundcovering carpets with Chionodoxa luciliae Pink Giant and Puschkinia scilloides libanotica. All these bulbs have a tendency to naturalize so your flower carpets will become larger and larger each year.

Features of Species or Group:

This native of Greece and Turkey bears daisy-like flowers, usually in shades of blue, although white and pink forms are available. One of spring's early bloomers.

Features of Genus:

Anemones, also known as windflowers, form a large and versatile group of plants. The flowers are often very colourful, and can be daisy-like with lots of petals, or cup-shaped, rather like poppies. Anemones flower in spring; the anemone coronaria will also flower in summer, depending on the planting time. They are excellent for cutting.

How to Plant Anemone Bulbs?

To plant Anemone Bulbs the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Blue Shades Anemone should be planted roughly 2" deep and 2" apart from one another.

Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.

When to Plant Blue Shades Anemone?

Anemone Bulbs are normally planted Mid Fall, and most Blue Shades Anemone will begin to flower sometime in Early Spring.
