Features of Species or Group:
		Also called Dutch Hyacinths due to the cultivation and breeding that started in Holland in the 17th century. Native to the eastern Mediterranean and the southern part of Turkey. It still grows in abundance in the surroundings of Bagdad and Aleppo. These flowers are extremely fragrant.
Features of Genus:
		Sweet scented Hyacinths are favourites in the garden or as potted plants. In the garden they look their best mass planted in blocks of one colour. They are widely grown commercially both for cut flowers and as potted flowering plants. Individual flowers are densely crowded into the stem, making a solid looking flowerhead. Bulbs usually flower best in their first year, the second and subsequent years producing fewer, looser blooms.


How to Plant ?
			To plant the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the should be planted roughly 6-8" deep and 4-5" apart from one another. Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.
When to Plant ?
			are normally planted fall, and most will begin to flower sometime in Mid Spring.
