Special Features

Grow best in a sunny spot or under decidious trees where they will receive sun in the early spring. Dwarf daffodil. Flowers 50mm wide.

Features of Species or Group:

Double or semi-double flowers carried single or in small groups. The whole flower may be double or just the cup. Double narcissus come in all colour combinations and the trumpet is not of a deeper colour than the ring of outer petals. These double narcissus are nice for bedding and borders and prefer a somewhat sheltered location.

Features of Genus:

Daffodils are probably the best known and most widely grown of all bulbs and to many they are the true indicator of spring. They look wonderful mass planted in the garden or naturalized in grass, but they also make great pot plants and excellent cut flowers. The best known colour is yellow, but there are also flowers in shades of white, cream, orange and pink. The trumpet is often a different colour to the petals and may be bicoloured. There are many species and cultivars and the genus Narcissus has been divided into 12 groups, depending on the shape and size of the flowers.

How to Plant Yellow Daffodils?

To plant Yellow Daffodils the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Rip Van Winkle Narcissus should be planted roughly 6" deep and 6" apart from one another.

Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.

When to Plant Rip Van Winkle Narcissus?

Yellow Daffodils are normally planted Mid Fall, and most Rip Van Winkle Narcissus will begin to flower sometime in Mid Spring.
