| Compost |
Fully decayed vegetable matter with the appearance of soil that is used to improve both the texture and fertility of garden soil. Some composts are made with the addition of animal manures and mineral powders like lime, greensand and phosphate. |
| Contrast |
Contrasts happen when colors are paired in such a way that each intensifies the other. The strongest contrasts are the result of putting together complementary colors. Contrasts of tone and temperature also exist. |
