Every spring Keukenhof is a feast for the eye: Millions of tulips and other bulb flowers are then in bloom, covering an area of 32 hectares that incorporates elements of traditional and modern landscape gardening. The flower shows in the pavilions are unique. Surprising and inspiring, brimming with ideas, trends and features that you can apply in your own garden.
This year, the well-known Dutch landscape architect Jacqueline van der Kloet has redeveloped a large part of the 80-acre exhibition. The new inspirational gardens provide both beginners and experienced gardeners with exciting new ideas. “The idea was to surprise and inspire the visitors here by showing them what you can do with flower bulbs in your own small scale garden”, explains van der Kloet. Therefore she designed seven 'Gardens of Inspiration', each one with a different theme like a mediterranean garden, a city garden, a lovers garden and an 'outside room'. |
