It is no coincidence that famous painters like Claude Monet often are very good gardeners. Or, the other way around, that passionate gardeners, like Gertrude Jekyll, are good painters. The perennial border is, after all, a composition of colours, shapes and forms in which every part has to be in harmony with the others. Bulbs are an essential element in this. Especially in spring their colour is important and in summer it is their shape and aura which completes the border. | ||
