Special Features

Plant the woody, tuberous roots with the claws pointing downwards. Soaking the tubers in water for a few hours before planting gets them off to a good start. Exceptionally pretty in pots or larger containers. Prefers full sun all day and well drained soil.

Features of Species or Group:

This is the parent of most hybrids offered today. It posseses the original beauty and versatility of the flower. Flowering in May-June. The many petalled, poppy like flowers are carried above attractive foliage in the summer.

Features of Genus:

This popular cut flower is one of the most colorful of all spring flowering bulbs. The Ranunculus can be massed in blocks of single colors or mixed with perennials in colorful borders. In warm climates they can be left in the ground and then can bloom for several years. These flowers are native to Asia Minor and are commonly known to us as the Persian Buttercup.

How to Plant Ranunculus Bulbs?

To plant Ranunculus Bulbs the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Orange Ranunculus should be planted roughly 2" deep and 6" apart from one another.

Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.

When to Plant Orange Ranunculus?

Ranunculus Bulbs are normally planted Late Fall, and most Orange Ranunculus will begin to flower sometime in Mid Spring.
