Allium unifolium, or Oneleaf Onion, is a shorter (12-18" tall) more clustered allium which blooms in the summertime! These plants produce many little florets that form a half dollar sized lavender pink umbel that flowers from late summer even into early fall. This allium is best if planted in large group and is one of the best alliums for naturalizing.

How to Plant Specialty Bulbs?
 

To plant Specialty Bulbs the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Allium unifolium (Oneleaf Onion) should be planted roughly 3-4"" deep and 3-4"" apart from one another.

Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.

When to Plant Allium unifolium (Oneleaf Onion)?
  Specialty Bulbs are normally planted Early Spring, and most Allium unifolium (Oneleaf Onion) will begin to flower sometime in Mid Spring.
