This charming flower does not resemble any of its kind. The tender white flowers have a purple heart and they dangle decoratively of a 32 inch stem. They flower one at a time and thus stay in bloom from early august till the first frost.

A very graceful sweet-smelling flower.

Features of Species or Group:
  Gladiolus callianthus or Abyssinian Star did not arrive in Europe until 1930. Acidanthera was the name of the genus, but they now belong to the genus Gladiolus. The similarity to a gladiolus flower is obvious, but they are more delicate and graceful. The leaves are sword shaped, the flowers - up to a dozen per corm - are held on slender stems above the tips of the leaves, and appear in late summer. This plant requires a warm, sunny position to do well.

Features of Genus:
  This eye-catching flower is native to South Africa and blooms in nearly every colour. The flower blooms from bottom to top, filling the entire stalk with its extravagant flowers. They are simple to grow and very rewarding. The gladiolus has sword-shaped leaves giving it the nickname 'sword-lily'.

How to Plant Specialty Bulbs?
 

To plant Specialty Bulbs the bulbs should be planted with the nose of the bulb upward (or the roots facing downwards) and the Gladiolus Murielae Value Pack should be planted roughly " deep and 5" apart from one another.

Note: For some bulbs you may not be able to tell which way is up or down, in these cases just plant them on their side and they will adjust on their own.
