Anemone coronaria Hollandia is probably better known as a charming cut flower than as a bulb, but it definitely deserves a place in the garden. Just choose a warm and dry spot, and the bulbs will already reward you with single flaming-red flowers six to ten weeks after planting.

When to plant Anemone?

Plant Anemone in early to mid-fall.

How to plant Anemone bulbs?

Soak the Anemone bulbs in tepid water overnight prior to planting. Plant Anemone bulbs 1-1.5" deep. If you are unable to determine which side of the bulb is facing up lay the anemone bulbs on their side and they will straighten themselves out.

Where to plant Anemone bulbs?

The ideal planting location is one with loose soil that has plenty of organic matter. Plant in a location that receives full sun in spring but is shaded in summer, to keep the bulbs cool. A location that is shaded by leaves of trees or shrubs in summer will be ideal. Hollandia Anemone are winter hardy in zones 7-9.

Healthy bulbs, strong plants, gorgeous color, I wish I could post a photo. Each plant has been putting out 6+ blooms and they keep coming.
Sadly, I am writing this review for the Hollandia and not the Bordeaux anemone, which is what I ordered. I am assuming it must have been mislabeled. But if you want bold beautiful red this is it!

I was very surprised when I received these. They looked like dried out roots. Little did I know when I googled these that they were supposed to look like that. After I soaked them overnight in water I planted them outside and they are blooming already. Very happy with product the great price and also free shipping. I would not hesitate to buy anything from you.

When I first planted these, I was not familiar with them. When they came up I was immediately in love and instantly wanted more, LOTS more! The brilliant red petals and black centers surrounded by white set the red against the black center in an unbelievable show that lasted for weeks! And the same holds true as a cut flower in a vase!
