    When to plant Bearded Iris?

Bearded Iris rhizomes should be planted in late summer to early fall.

How to plant Bearded Iris rhizomes?

Plant Bearded Iris rhizomes 1-2" deep with part of the rhizome showing above ground level. The left-over foliage from the prior season that is attached to the rhizome will be showing above ground. Before winter arrives, the dry foliage will fade away.

    Where to plant Bearded Iris?

Bearded Iris should be planted in full to part sun. Plant Bearded Iris in soil that drains well, as Bearded Iris do not like to sit in wet soil. Plant Bearded Iris towards the middle to back of the planting area with summer blooming plants in front that will cover the foliage once the Iris are finished blooming.

    Bearded Iris after care

Approximately 6 weeks after the iris are finished blooming cut the leaves back to 6" from the ground. In fall clean up debris around the iris to prevent disease and insects for the next season.

This iris is beautiful. I bought it for my white flower garden. It is in bloom now but it is not white or fragrant. It is a bicolor white and purple iris. Still pretty.
