Important: Fall planted Freesia will only survive the winter outdoors in hardiness zone 9 and above. If you are located in hardiness zone 8 or lower, we do not suggest planting Freesia outside in Fall.
Freesia prefer a sunny location in well drained soil. Freesia are sensitive to outside temperatures. The will do best in areas that are cool, but not cold. Summer temps between 55 and 70 are ideal for Freesia. Expect blooms from your Fall planted Freesia 3-4 months after planting. Plant in zones 8-11 in Fall and 4-7 in Spring.
