These are great looking firm bulbs and far superior to any bulb I've purchased from B&B bulbs and these people actually have customer service that writes you if you have a problem. Keep it up T.W

Pros:
  • bloom stock

Cons:
Bought for last spring and the bloom stock is great as a cut centerpiece. Bought more because they look great in the spring through to early summer.

Like Fireworks in the Garden

Pros:
  • Big blooms
  • Showstopper
  • Bees love them
  • Unique
Cons:
These were so incredible! I planted them interspersed with purple sensation alliums and they were just perfect. The flowers were kind of pinkish and they grew a little shorter than the purple sensations, which made for a really nice multi-level/full look in the allium bed. These are HUGE! They look like explosions over a foot wide -- just so cool. And the bees adore them.

  • Centerpiece
  • Focal point
  • Easy to grow
Cons:
Someone described these as little fireworks living in your garden. To me that description is spot on. It is like capturing the exact moment in time when the firework bursts in the air to the globe-within-a-globe look just before the embers descend and the moment is over.

Schubertii captures that moment in time and it lives in your garden for months! Even after the seemingly hundreds of tiny purple flowers have faded to a soft vintage taupey-lavender they will continue to last even longer in their dried state, either in your garden or in dried arrangements.

Beware - these are big.

I suggest planting them at the front of your garden where you can enjoy them. If you do not want random people pulling over to the side of the road to ask you what those beautiful flowers are, where they can buy them, how they can grow them, etc. etc. i suggest not planting them street side as I did (though it has been fun meeting people from all across town it is sometimes hard to get work done in the garden).
