This variety is the result of crossing Allium aflatunense and Allium macleanii. Gladiator Allium blooms can grow up 4-5" in diamter. It grows 3-4' tall and is excellent for cut flowers. Blooms of the Gladiator Allium are compact, round, and larger than Purple Sensation Allium.

Planting depth varies based on each different type of allium. Gladiator Allium should be planted 4-5” deep with spacing of 8-10”. Allium often have a pointed end, that is the side of the bulb that should be planted facing up. If you are not able to tell which side of the Allium bulb is facing up, look for small thin dried roots on one end, that is the bottom of the bulb and should be touching the ground when planted.
