    Planting Amaryllis
    1. Amaryllis are typically sold in fall or early winter and should be planted within 2 weeks of receiving or purchasing them.
    2. If purchased as part of a kit, place soil disk in the provided pot along with warm water. Allow disk to sit in water for approximately five minutes. The disk will begin to expand as it soaks up the water. As it expands, the soil can be "fluffed" with a fork to fill the pot.
    3. If no soil disk is provided, simply use a nutrient-rich potting soil in any desired pot which is approximately 2" wider and 2" deeper than the diameter of the bulb. Be sure that whichever container is used has adequate drainage as these bulbs do not like to sit wet.
    4. Plant the bulb so that the pointed end is up and just protruding from the surface of the soil.
    5. Water well and place in an area of your home which stays warm and receives indirect sunlight.
    6. Continue to provide water on a weekly basis to keep soil slightly moist but not wet.
    7. Once blooms have faded, cut off the flower stalk as close to the base as possible. Keep the soil slightly moist and add house plant fertilizer if desired.
    8. Begin with-holding water in late July or early August and allow the bulb to go dormant and dry out completely in a sunny area. In early fall, remove and clean the bulb of old scales and any remaining dead foliage.
    9. Re-pot plant whenever desired to restart the growing process.

The flaming peacock amaryllis came as a loose bulb. Planted on 12/22/24 in a container, the flower stalk started to grow. By 02/26/25,a beautiful flower opened. A second flower stalk is on its way. Amazing flower.

    Pros:
    • Long bloom time
    • Very captivating
    Cons:
My mother in law is 93 and she absolutely loved this amaryllis. She looked forward to its every change. She said one stalk bloomed and when that one was finished another stalk grew and bloomed. I’m sure her heat was up high and the blooms still lasted days. Very pleased with my purchase.

    Exquisite Flower

    Pros:
    • massive size
    • Healthy
    • Multiple flower spikes
    • Great customer service
    Cons:
    • Pricey if not on sale
This is my first year to purchase Flaming Peacock amaryllis bulbs and I am so glad that I did. My first flower spike has two open blooms and they are exquisite. I only wish they lasted longer. The blooms are huge and vibrant. I am so excited that my bulb has a second flower spike growing.

Without a doubt, Tulip World is the place to go for healthy prolific amaryllis bulbs. I could not be more pleased with the size and health of their bulbs. Of the 9 or 10 pairs I purchased this year, almost all have 2 to 3 flower spikes. If you are considering purchasing loose amaryllis bulbs from here, JUST SAY YES!
